Industry Players are Disrespected and Undervalued – Aziz Empire Boi
The industry Suffers when Artists,promoters, and Event Organisers don't work together
Aziz Farwest Empire Boi has described the struggles faced by the Upper West Music industry to be due to a breakdown in collaboration and mutual support among artists, event organisers, and industry players. Being an event organiser and an entertaiment critic, he highlighted the reasons for the inactiveness of the intertainment industry in a facebook post with the hastag #EveryoneNeedEveryone:
“Everyone can testify with me that the industry is in active as it use to be,Artist find it difficult to host successful domestic shows,promoters become dormant in promoting artists,domestic events organizers doesn’t use solely domestic artists to organize shows as they use to,industry players doesn’t concentrate much on the industry as they use.
For every entertainment (music) industry to grow and become successful,artists and events organizers has to be using each other,industry players must be respected and valued aside any critics and dialogues. In our case NO!
Artists at a point where convinced by other people how event organizers are using them and they come into conclusion that they will have to be organizing their own shows which is OK. In so doing they gave events organizers the zeal and strategy to also organize events without them or most of them and when that happens the industry will automatically slow down because:
1. An event organizer who was supposed to promote an artist or help in promoting an artist,lobbying an artist for shows because he has to help in building strong brand and other to use him one day will not again because he can or will do without him.
2. An industry players who will always talks about the artist for him to be heard louder and known by people who are not much into the music arena will stop because he is always disrespected all the time for what he is not being payed for
3. Artist will find it difficult to contact a promoter or event organizer to promote him or his show because he said he shouldn’t be used and will not also use anyone
When these things happen the only lucky ones are always those who can be or will always have the chance to be billed outside their comfort zones like Mba Gbegni Rekordz is doing. There is no way an artist will be promoting his colleague artist personal show that he is not billed unless promoters and events organizers,so if artists feel like they are being used by these people who will then promote your shows and and music for you or talk about you because artists don’t promote or talk about their fellow artists,they only talk about themselves but an event organizer and promoter will talk about. It’s high time we all think about it or else this industry will still go down than this,it’s not about you releasing tracks but make sure you have a lot of people who talks about you because that makes you much bigger.#EveryoneNeedEveryone ”
