My Encounter With Hollywood Stars Made Me Lose Interest In Acting – Majid Michel explains

One of Ghanaian legendary and award-winning actors, Majid Michel now an evangelist has cleared the air on what shifted his attention from acting to preaching the word of God.

He explained that this happened after his personal interaction with some movie stars of “Think Like A Man” fame.

He said that though one of his goals as an actor was getting himself featured in Hollywood and appear on set alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger where he will also get the chance to jump from helicopters, everything vanished when he was almost at the realms of getting that goal achieved.

Speaking on Joy FM’s, ‘The reason is Jesus on Sunday’, the veteran actor unravelled that, after getting close to the cast of “Think Like A Man”, his interest in pursuing his acting career disappeared totally.

“After the movie ‘Somewhere in Africa’, I was introduced to the cast of ‘Think like a man’, Steve Harvey’s book in Los Angeles, because the movie was premiered in Los Angeles and the President of the Pan African Film Festival, was there. When Sony Pictures was premiering the movie with Kevin Hart, Megan Good, I was there.

“Through that film, I got to meet all these people. I didn’t even take a picture with Kevin Hart. He wasn’t famous as at the time. Now I regret it. But I had a picture with Megan Good and the husband she recently split up with. I thought that was her bodyguard at the time.

“To me, it was where I wanted to be and after that, an interest in me just left. The interest just left me like that. It doesn’t mean it won’t come back. I was probably drawn back into the wilderness a little bit to recharge on something and come back.”

He told the host, Fifi Folson, his interest in acting can be revived anytime soon, but he’s currently focused on God’s work and how to further acquire knowledge.

“I can regenerate the interest if I want to but the interest for Hollywood, and doing all these movies I wanted to do with Arnold Schwarzenegger – jumping from the helicopters, the thrill has just left. It moved to knowledge in the things of God. It was a hunger for knowledge.”

In Majid’s opinion, he has always known God all his life. “There was no turning point. Since I remember being aware in life, I have known God,” he added.
