Assemblyman of Mirigu-Nabango Requests Further Support from Charger Limited CEO for Community Development
On June 15, 2024, Ghanaian entrepreneur and philanthropist Dr. Emmanuel Bortey Borketey officially commissioned a new borehole for the residents of Mirigu-Nabango in the Kasena Nankana West District of the Upper East Region. This significant contribution aims to provide clean and safe drinking water to a community that has long struggled with water scarcity and contamination, marking a substantial improvement in the quality of life for its inhabitants.
During the borehole commissioning ceremony, Mr. Edward Anafo, the Upper East Regional Manager of Charger Limited, highlighted the company’s focus on water and sanitation projects for the year. The community was given a choice between a toilet facility and a borehole, and the Chief opted for the borehole, which has now become a vital resource for the residents.
Hon. Akumsigiya Nsoh John, the Assemblyman of Mirigu-Nabango, expressed profound gratitude on behalf of the entire community to Dr. Borketey and Charger Limited for their generosity. He urged the company to continue its commendable efforts and took the opportunity to appeal for additional boreholes and other community projects that would further enhance the living conditions in Mirigu-Nabango.
Chief Naba Atuguba Atogumzoya Benjamin II also conveyed his heartfelt thanks to Dr. Borketey, emphasizing the critical health risks previously faced due to the lack of clean water. He described the new borehole as a lifesaver and hailed Dr. Borketey as a savior for the community.
