Aduanige’s Nongre Foundation: Championing Inter-Ethnic Peace, Environmental Conservation, and Youth Empowerment

Bolgatanga, June 25, 2024 – The Upper East Regional House of Chiefs Auditorium in Bolgatanga witnessed the grand launch of the Nongre Foundation, an inspiring initiative by Aduanige Mba Rejoice, the Ghana Most Beautiful 2023 finalist. The foundation aims to drive positive social change, promote inter-ethnic peace, address environmental challenges, and empower youth through education.
Mission and Vision
Mission: The Nongre Foundation, translated as “Nature’s Hope,” is dedicated to fostering positive social change within communities. It seeks to promote inter-ethnic peace, address environmental challenges through afforestation and land degradation initiatives, and empower youth through education. The foundation’s mission is to create a sustainable, inclusive, and harmonious world where every individual has the opportunity to thrive and contribute to a better future.
Vision: The foundation envisions a world where communities thrive in harmony, diversity is embraced, and inter-ethnic peace is fostered. It aims to achieve thriving ecosystems through afforestation and the reversal of land degradation. By empowering youth with education and opportunities, the Nongre Foundation seeks to nurture informed, innovative, and compassionate leaders who drive sustainable and positive change for a better future.
Goals
- Promote Inter-Ethnic Peace: Foster understanding and peaceful coexistence among diverse ethnic groups through community building and conflict resolution initiatives.
- Conserve the Environment: Restore and expand forests, reverse land degradation, and promote sustainable practices while educating communities on environmental stewardship.
- Empower Youth: Provide educational resources, leadership training, and opportunities for youth involvement in community and environmental projects.

Launch Event Highlights
The launch event brought together a host of dignitaries, reflecting the significance of Aduaniage’s vision. Among the notable attendees were the Overlord of the Kasaug Traditional Area, Zug-Raan Naaba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II, the Regent of Kusanab Atia Ayeebo Maurice, the President of the Regional House of Chiefs, Pe Ditundini Adiali Ayagitam III Chiana Pio, the Upper East Regional Minister, Hon. Hafiz Bin Salih, and several other high-profile figures.
In their speeches, many dignitaries praised Aduaniage for her visionary leadership and highlighted the importance of the Nongre Foundation’s initiatives. Aduaniage, in her address, expressed her gratitude and outlined her vision for the foundation.
“My journey into touching lives started in 2019, right after senior high school,” Aduaniage said. “I saw the need to add my voice and service to helping people in deprived communities and students understand their purpose and goals. Today, I am thrilled to launch the Nongre Foundation, an initiative close to my heart and vital to our future.”
Upper East Schools Debate
The launch event also saw the introduction of the Upper East Schools Debate, an initiative under the Nongre Foundation. Eight schools will compete in the regional debate, tackling thought-provoking topics that address the region’s challenges. The participating schools include Bolgatanga Girls Senior High School, Notre Dame Senior High School, Tempane Senior High School, Gowrie Senior High School, Kusanaba Senior High School, Chiana Senior High School, Kongo Senior High School, and Bawku Senior High School.
The Upper East Schools Debate aims to foster critical thinking and public speaking skills among students, encouraging them to engage with pressing issues facing their communities.
