Hashim Sherif, known professionally as Medra, is a rapper, singer and song writer from Wa, the Upper West Region of Ghana. Born on August 15, 1995, he is the fourth born of five children of his parents.

Early Life and Education

Born in Wa, Medra attained his basic school education at St John’s Catholic School and then studied General Arts at Uthman Senior High School in Kumasi between 2014 to 2017.

Music Career

Medra started his music at childhood. He started as a lip singer and later on start to write his own songs and raps. He was recruited by Street wise entertainment in 2017, which has already made artists like, Gee Dogg and Major Savage.

In 2018, he left Street Wise Entertainment and formed his own label and he calls it “Sound Down” with the aid of Gladys Botaa, a renowned business woman and an entrepreneur in Wa.

Medra is the only artist to have won the PRUMAS Hip Hop song of the year award twice in a roll. He has a couple of singles to his name and has featured already made artists like, Gally, Gandaw Ojay, Nash Berry, SamBwoy and many more.
